Do your prescription glasses always get in the way of… well…life? Have you considered switching from eyeglasses to contact lenses? When you’re ready to make the switch, visit We Are Eyes for a contact lens eye exam.
Boca Raton optometrist Dr. Erin A. Weston offers comprehensive eye care services, including a full contact lens exam, contact lens fittings, and a full array of contact lens options.
We carry trusted contact lens brands such as Acuvue, Alcon Ciba Vision, CooperVision, Bausch + Lomb, and more. Plus, you can shop our selection of contact lenses online and order them from the convenience of home.
Contact Lens Exam
A contact lens exam is performed to determine the right prescription strength for your contact lenses. It involves measuring the diameter of your eyes and checking the surface of your eyes for curvature and other factors that may affect how lenses will fit. You might need to try more than one pair of lenses or even return for follow-up visits.
Once you have good vision, comfort, and fit in a trial pair of lenses, you can order your contacts (usually get them in a week or less). If you have never worn contacts, our expert staff will train you to insert, remove, and care for your lenses.
We carry a vast array of specialty lenses such as colored, toric (lenses that correct for astigmatism), and bifocal contacts. We also offer the latest in contact lens materials and designs.
Contact Lens Fitting
First, we will examine your corneas to ensure they are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. Next, we will take careful measurements of your eyes using a special instrument called a keratometer. These dimensions will determine the shape and size of your lenses.
A contact lens fitting also includes a test to evaluate the tear film in your eyes. All of this information will help us determine the optimal brand and type of contact lenses for your needs. Improper brands can often cause dry eye or allergy symptoms, which is why a precise contact lens fitting is so important.
Please note that even if you have worn contacts before, you will still need a contact lens fitting each time your contact lens prescription expires.

After you’ve been fitted, you have many contact lens options to choose from. Do you want extended wear contact lenses or disposable contacts? Do you want to change or enhance the color of your eyes with your new contacts?
